The Bastrop Lions Club is teaming up with Super One Foods and area schools to help fight hunger in Morehouse Parish.

The Lions Club president Jack Caughley said this event has been ongoing for 25 years.

Canned goods are currently being collected by Morehouse Parish schools for this annual event.

Super One Foods donates 125 hens every year to the cause in the form of a voucher, to be picked up after the food boxes are distributed to the donees.

Bastrop High JROTC students will help distribute the collected canned-goods on Thursday, Dec. 21. to the homes of those who are in need.

The Synders Museum will feed the Lions Club and the JROTC students a delicious lunch before they distribute the food boxes in pairs.
