Morehouse Parish Schools participated in National School Bus Safety Week during the week of Oct 16-20. National School Bus Safety Week is an active and evolving public education program and an excellent way for parents, students, teachers, motorist, school bus operators, school administrators and other interested parties to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety.  Students in grades K-3 from Pine Grove, Delta, Morehouse Magnet & Henry V Adams participated as Transportation Coordinator, Verbon Muhammad, Sr. demonstrated proper and improper  seating while on board the bus, how to properly communicate on the bus, handrail safety and the proper way to cross the street when boarding and deboarding the bus. Pictured, Muhammad passes out safety information to students as they exit a bus.

“You can never stress safety enough when it comes to school bus safety, one motto that I have adopted and emphasized to our Bus Operators is Safety First, Safety Last and Safety Always,” Mr. Muhammad said.

Thanks to the principals, teachers and especially the students for making National School Bus Safety Week successful!
