On Friday, September 29, the Bastrop Fire Department received a new fire engine. The truck, a 2017 Ferrara Intruder II Pumper, will replace the previous Engine 1, which will be sent to station 2. The truck was purchased with city money allocated for this purpose and at the perfect time as well. “We finished paying off our other engine just as we had a wreck and needed a new one” said Chief Thomas Crowder. The new engine will be located at Central Station 1 at 717 North Marable Street.
