According to Campbell, Captain Dewayne Reed, a Bastrop Police Detective, has been working on the case for the past year. Reed turned the results of his investigation over to the District Attorneys Office, who recently presented the facts of the case to a grand jury That grand jury returned the indictments for 2nd-degree murder and armed robbery against Adams..
"This arrest is the result of good police work on the part of Captain Reed," Campbell said.
At the time Lee's body was found police surmised that he had been killed at another location and his body dumped off the trail through the woods. Lee had been missing for several days before his body was found.
