MONROE — Henry A. Capdeboscq Jr., of Husser, was recently elected to the board of Louisiana Land Bank.
Capdeboscq is a dairy and beef cattle farmer and is also the president of Louisiana Milk Producers. He was instrumental in forming Louisiana Family Farms, LLC, a bottling plant group, where he is currently serving as a director.
Capdeboscq will serve a three-year term and is one of 11 directors that oversee the rural lending cooperative. Other directors include: John E. Carroll of Gilbert; R. Ernest Girouard Jr. of Kaplan; Gertrude L. Hawkins of Morganza; Gerald E. Moore of Jennings; Edward W. Patrick Jr. of Lake Providence; Bobby E. Stanley of Port Allen; Robert A. Stinson of Gilliam; David C. Vanderlick of Lecompte; Charles A. Vandersteen of Alexandria and Daniel E. Webb of Colfax.
As a cooperative, Louisiana Land Bank is supervised by a board of directors elected by stockholder-members. In addition to receiving voting rights, co-op members also share in the co-op’s earnings. In April, Louisiana Land Bank distributed a $4.7 million cash patronage, raising the total to $35 million in stock refunds, dividends and patronage distributed to stockholders since 1996.
Louisiana Land Bank is part of the Farm Credit System and finances farms, country homes, rural recreational property, agribusiness and other rural real estate. It is headquartered in Monroe and operates branch offices in Alexandria, Crowley, Hammond, Monroe, Opelousas, Port Allen, Shreveport, Tallulah and Winnsboro.
