The Pine Belt Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency, Inc. will sponsor two summer employment programs this year.  The Summer Youth Employment is for eligible youth ages 14 through 18 and Summer Work Experience for applicants ages 19 through 21.

The programs will operate for eight weeks beginning June 7 through July 30. The youth program will work at public and private sector businesses earning $7.50 per hour and working up to 30 hours per week.

The goals of this type program are to connect youth with employers so they can gain an appreciation of the labor market, gain insights into their own strengths as employable citizens and learn marketable skills.

The Community Services Block Grant/American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will fund the program.

Employment applications and information packets may be obtained from the local Pine Belt outreach office located at 1602 West Madison or viewed on  the website at www.pinebeltcaa.ning.com. The deadline for applications is May 14. All applications mailed in must be postmarked by May 14. For information contact Mrs. Elowise Rabon or Terry Matthews at 318.239.3851 or fax 318.239.3805.
