The Rose Theatre will present Jekyll & Hyde The Musical July 17 - 19 and 24 - 26.
Jekyll & Hyde is based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story of Dr. Henry Jekyll, a brilliant young doctor and research scientist who embarks upon a quest to isolate the dual elements of good and evil that are constantly struggling for supremacy inside every human being. However, when his experiment backfires, Jekyll inadvertently gives life to Edward Hyde, his evil alter ego, a murderous being who will let loose a reign of terror on 19th century London and those who had ridiculed Jekyll’s research.
Starring as as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is Bastrop’s own Victor Fricke. He has starred several Rose productions, including “Joseph and the Technical Color Dreamcoat” and “Pump Boys and Dinettes.”
Playing Emma Carew is Donna Edwards of Mer Rouge. Edwards has also been in several performances, including “Steel Magnolias” and “Oklahoma.”
Bastrop native Lori DiGiulian also performs in this dramatic musical as Lady Beaconsfield.
Dustin Robertson, Matt Perrault, Dana and Toby Otero, Roy McCoy, Kathy Marquis, Alaric Fricke, Randol Tittle, Miranda Williams, Megan and Matt Wilkins, Laura Ulrich, JoEllen Showers, Derek Holt, Russ Givens, Steve Barton, Tony Bayles, Jacob Brunson, Amy Medlin and Nathaniel Medlin round out the cast under the leadership of Director Hal Robinson.
Show times for the Friday and Saturday performances is 7 p.m. and for Sunday performances, 2 p.m. The box office will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. July 14 through 18 and 21 through 25. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7.50 for children.
