This week in Crime Stoppers News, the Bastrop Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating a suspect for attempted armed robbery of the Dollar General Store on West Madison in Bastrop. According to Police Chief Allen Campbell, a black male described as medium skinned and in his twenties attempted to rob the store on the evening of Saturday November 7. The suspect was described as wearing a navy blue hoodie, a camo face mask and grey sweatpants. He was also reported as possibly possessing a physical handicap as his right leg was dragging as he walked.

The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office is also currently looking for suspects in two break-ins that occurred last week according to Chief Criminal Investigator Rose Worley.

On November 4, a homeowner on Shelton Road reported that they returned home to find a front window broken out. Upon investigation, it was discovered that three televisions and two shotguns were taken from the home as well as an Xbox 360 and games for the console.

On November 7, a second break-in occurred, this time on Glasgow Road off of Harris Road. A homeowner returned home from town to discover that their back door was kicked in and two different guns were taken. One was a .22 magnum pump Winchester rifle with a Tasco Scope, and one was a single shot rifle, brand unknown. The total estimated value is $200. A silver watch with a black band and a Stanley socket set were also taken.
