Cherry Ridge Nursing Home residents got a break from their usual Painting with Sandy activity and instead got to put together bracelets for their weekly craft time.

Eight residents showed up to participate in the activity.

“This is my artistic group,” Activities Director Sandy Dunlap said. “They love to paint and make jewelry.”

For this craft time, the residents put together bracelets by putting colorful beads onto wire along with a metal cross.

“I just love to do anything like this,” resident Bennie Thurman said.

To finish off the bracelets, Dunlap helped residents to attach lobster clasps so that the bracelets could be taken on and off.

“We don't make this hard,” Dunlap explained while assisting one of the residents. “We just have fun.”

According to Dunlap, she tries to plan at least one craft time for residents a week. For a full calendar of events at Cherry Ridge Nursing Home, visit
