  • The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office and the Bastrop Police Department are looking for leads in several recent theft cases.
The MPSO currently has two open theft cases they are looking into. MPSO Lt. Scott Culp reported that there had been a complaint made on Aug. 22 of a blueish-green Craftsman Poulan push-mower and a white and orange steel weed-eater stolen from a trailer on the Collinston Road. According to Culp, a burglary was also reported recently on Aug. 23. A storage unit was broken into on Hance Coleman Road in Jones. Items reported missing from the trailer included three saddles, eight saddle blankets, seven or eight halters and bridles, a green moped, two boxes of assorted wrenches and tools, five skilsaws and 60 feet of chain.
According to BPD Captain Anthony Evans, the police department is following up on a report made on Aug. 25 that a four-wheeler had been stolen over the weekend. The four-wheeler is described as a 2010 camouflage colored Honda 5 x 5 two seater with a brush guard and a winch.
Anyone with any information regarding these cases may call Crime Stoppers at 281.0050; the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office at 281.4141 or the Bastrop Police Department at 281.1322. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in felony cases.
