A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning at Globke Chiropractic Clinic for its new building located at 240 Holt St.

Bastrop-Morehouse Chamber of Commerce members and Bastrop Mayor Arthur Jones were present to celebrate the business' newest expansion.

“When a new business comes to town, we're excited to have it, but when an existing business needs to expand, we're really excited because that means that they are successful,” Chamber Director Dorothy Ford said.

Owner Dr. Eliah Globke moved to Bastrop and started this business in 2003 and since then the business has continuously grown.

“The reason we moved here was because God told us too,” Globke explained. “When you say you're here to stay, I'm here until God tells me to go.”

“We are happy to see you expanding,” Jones told Globke and his staff. “It means you're expanding with us and with most people when they say their business is expanding, they're leaving, but you're staying home.”

The clinic will celebrate its grand opening with a patient appreciation day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 12. There will be giveaways to the first 15 people to enter the door, a drawing for a television, guest speakers and free adjustments for current patients. Globke is also offering a discount on the first visit for new customers.

Guest speakers will include Ashley White, a health coach; a representative from Anytime Fitness; Betsy Nix with Advocare; Ricky Dickerson, author and Natural Health consultant; and Sasha Coody with Mary Kay Cosmetics.
