  • The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking information relating to several recent theft cases.
On June 21, a shop was broken into on Cooper Lake Road and several tools were reported missing including a red and black air compressor—double piston, a red portable tank, a red and white floor jack, a Dewalt heavy duty angle grinder and other miscellaneous tools.
On July 3, someone broke into a vehicle that was parked at a local church and stole several credit cards. Footage released from Walmart and Walgreens has captured two suspects using the stolen cards. According to Chief Criminal Investigator Major Rose Worley, a similar case is being worked in Ashley County, and the MPSO is in contact with law enforcement there to find out if these two cases could be connected.
On July 4, a gas grill was reported stolen from a residence on Bonner Ferry Road.
On July 7, a home was broken into on Rosenwald in Bonita. According to reports, the suspect entered through the back door and clothing and money were taken.
“Once again, we want to urge everyone to keep their vehicles locked and also their houses,” Worley said.
Anyone with any information regarding these offenses may call Crime Stoppers at 281.0050; the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office at 281.4141 or the Bastrop Police Department at 281.1322. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in felony cases.
