  • Bastrop High School Class of 1974
    The Bastrop High School class of 1974 will have a reunion meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 7 at the Dotson Park Gym. The planning committee encourages all to attend.
     
    Snyder Museum Summer Camp and Workshops
    The Snyder museum will be doing a summer workshop from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on July 7 through 10 for ages five through 8. A class for ages nine through 12 will be held on the same days. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 21 through 24, a class for ages five through 12 will be held. Students should bring a sack lunch to this class.     Summer Reading Program Clown
    The Morehouse Parish Library will have special guest, Geebo the Clown, at 10 a.m. July 9. This event is part of the library’s summer reading program.
     
    Public Service Announcement
    DPAT of NELA and Simmons Sporting Goods will hold a conceal carry class at 7:30 a.m. July 12th at Simmons Sporting Goods. Limited seating is available. To pre-register, contact Sara Hawkins at 547.7933.
     
    Water Aerobics for Seniors
    The Morehouse Council on Aging in conjunction with the City of Bastrop will be having a water aerobics program from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at the City of Bastrop Pool in East Madison Park. The program is for people 45 and above who want to exercise in water. Stop by the Morehouse Council on Aging Fitness Center at 200 Elm St. in East Madison park between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to register. Call the Morehouse Council on Aging at 318.82.0845 with questions.
     
    Police Jury Shuttle Site Closed
    The Morehouse Parish Police Jury Shuttle site located at the Highway Department is closed temporarily until further notice.

    Support group meetings
    Share of Northeast Louisiana, Inc., a support group for families that have lost a baby due to miscarriage or stillbirth or within the first year of birth, will meet from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on the first Monday of each month in the building behind the Morehouse Community Medical Center, 518 Durham St.

    Rose Theater Summer Show postponed
    The play “Whose Wives Are They Anyway” has been postponed from June to Sept. 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28. The play will still be part of the 2013/2014 membership/season.
