Dixie Angels District V Tournament

After seven lead changes in Tuesday's game, East Ouachita North pulled out a 7-5 win over the Bastrop All-Stars to capture the Dixie Angels District V championship. This is the first district championship for this team from Sterlington.

EO North finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. Jayden Ellerman's double put EO North ahead for good.

Bastrop scored one run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Karley Ware. Still, Bastrop couldn't catch EO North.

Peyton Owens was hot from the plate for EO North, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and scoring a run. She singled in the second and fourth innings.

In the top of the first, Bastrop grabbed the early lead, 1-0.

EO North scored one run of their own in the first on a passed ball.

Bastrop scored single runs in the second and fifth innings. In the second, Bastrop scored on a walk by Tanner Spigner, bringing home Tya Brandon.

It didn't take long for EO North to respond as they scored three in the second on an RBI single by Peyton, a steal of home by Peyton, and an RBI single by Emma Brown. 

Carolyn Dorris went the distance for the EO North Panthers, pitching a one hit game with 12 strikeouts.

EO North now advance to the Louisiana Dixie Softball State tournament in Alexandria beginning July 11.
