From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 25 at the Bastrop Visitor's Center, the Louisiana Small Business Development Center, the Morehouse Economic Development Corporation and the Visitor's Center will be sponsoring a free small business development program focused on "Creating Food Products that Sell."
The workshop is recommended for all individuals interested in starting a food related business, opening a restaurant, seeking new ideas to expand current food businesses and learning more about the food industry.
Dianne Sclafani will serve as the event's guest speaker. Sclafini is a New Orleans business speaker and restaurant consultant who serves business clients looking for fast and smart solutions to achieve profitable results.
She runs her own successful business while also working as the "Food and Restaurant Specialist" for the Louisiana Small Business Development Center for the Greater New Orleans Region. She provides personalized consulting to both new and established businesses and presents business seminars in marketing and financing businesses.
At the June 12 meeting of the Bastrop City Council, Kay King, President/CEO of the Morehouse Economic Development Corporation, spoke about the program.
"Fourth generation chef Dianne Sclafani will be conducting the workshop," King said. "This will be a program that will be good for people who might be interested in starting a business, developing products and may be valuable to some of our existing restaurants."
