  • Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office seeks help; Bastrop Police Department warns against illegal parking

  • Local law enforcement asks for help in solving recent theft cases and seeks to make residents aware of a recent spike in parking violations.
    According to Chief Criminal Investigator Major Rose Worley, the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for help locating suspects in two different theft investigations.
    On May 31, an aluminum boat was reported stolen from Bussey Brake. The boat had reportedly been tied up at Bussey for several weeks before the theft.
    On June 2, a report was made that the day before an iPad was stolen out of a vehicle while it was parked at a local church on Shelton Road.
    The Bastrop Police Department is seeing an increase in people illegally parking in fire lanes near stores. According to Chief Downey Black, officers will be watching for these types of parking violations, and it's a very expensive ticket.
