Starting on June 2, any student age 18 and under may stop by any one of five area schools on Monday through Friday to eat a free breakfast and/or lunch as part of the Summer Food Service Program offered through Morehouse Parish School Child Nutrition and the USDA.
The meals will be served at the following schools: H.V. Adams, Bastrop High, Cherry Ridge, Delta Magnet and Morehouse Jr. High at the times indicated in the box to the right. The program will also provide meals to summer school and remediation students at Bastrop High and Morehouse Jr. High.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service, the SFSP was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Free meals, that meet Federal nutrition guidelines, are provided to all children 18 and under at approved SFSP sites.
Acceptance and participation requirements for the SFSP and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
