  • Sterlington claimed seven spots on the All-District 2-2A softball team in voting conducted by the coaches. All four of the Lady Panthers' first-team honorees are repeat selections.
District champion Winnfield Senior High swept the individual awards. Senior outfielder Emily Clements was named Most Valuable Player and Lyn Bankston was chosen as Coach of the Year after leading WSHS to a 17-7 record, including a 5-1 mark in conference play.
In all, the Winnfield Lady Tigers have six first-team honorees, followed by the state champion Oak Grove Lady Tigers with five, Sterlington with four and Jonesboro-Hodge with three.
Named to the first team from Sterlington were sophomore first baseman Caroline Cooley, senior shortstop Taylor Wilson, senior third baseman Chelbi Johnson and senior outfielder Alex McMorris.
