Regions Bank is gearing up to support Relay for Life with their team, Krewe of Life Green.

“We have participated in Relay for Life several times in the past, but we are super excited for this year's event,” Team Captain Stacey Morrison said. “We have a full team and have come up with some great fundraising ideas. We are thrilled to be part of this event and help bring cancer awareness to our community.”

For the day of the Relay, which will be held at 6 p.m. May 9, their team will have cupcakes, totes, cancer awareness bracelets, key chains and pins for sale. They will also have a free photo booth and a split the pot raffle. For the raffle, they will sell tickets and every two hours do a drawing. Half of the money will go to the Relay and the other half will go to whoever's name is drawn.

Team members who will be participating on the day of the Relay will be Tina Wallace, Morrison, Ashley Smith, Stephanie Stephenson, LaShunda Atkins, Natalie Morrison, Jessica Morrison and Bret Munson.

“Cancer has struck my family so many times over the years,” Natalie Morrison said. “We have said goodbye to all ages from the elderly to young children. I want to prevent my daughter and the younger generation from knowing the fear and pain that cancer brings. Anything we can do to make that happen will be well worth our hard work and sacrifices.”

Relay for Life will be held at Bastrop High School and the theme for this year is Mardi Gras. The money raised from the event goes to the American Cancer Society.
