Class 4A Baseball Playoffs

Qualifying for the Class 4A baseball playoffs as the No. 31 seed, the Bastrop Rams drew a familiar foe in the first round. Bastrop will play the No. 2 West Ouachita Chiefs on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Cadeville.

As a rematch of last weekend's regular season-ending three-game series, this will mark the fourth straight game between the two teams.

West Ouachita won all three meetings, taking the series opener 14-0 in Bastrop on Thursday and winning both ends of Saturday's double header at Cadeville by identical 11-1 scores.

West Ouachita (25-9, 10-2) finished second to Neville in the District 2-4A standings, followed by the Rams (11-19, 6-6) in third place.

Thursday's winner advances to play No. 18 Assumption or No. 15 Crowley.
