The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana State Police narcotics task force worked to remove several drug offenders from the streets during a weekend roundup.
The operation, coordinated by the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office, netted over 50 arrests in Morehouse and Ouachita Parish. Morehouse Sheriff Mike Tubbs said the first-time coordinated effort was extremely helpful to the parish.
"Because of our size, it is difficult to try to do something of this magnitude without outside help, and the additional manpower enabled us to concentrate on areas where street-level drug sales were happening," Tubbs said.
