Neville 10, Bastrop 0

Curphey Hardin went 3-for-4 with three RBI to back the combined four-hit shutout pitching of David Patrick and Oliver Campbell as Neville closed out a three-game sweep of Bastrop with a 10-0 triumph Saturday afternoon at Baron Ballpark.

Settling the outcome early, the Tigers (18-10, 8-0) paraded 12 batters to the plate during a seven-run second. In addition to Thomas Green's RBI triple and Curphey Hardin's two-run single, the visitors were the beneficiary of six bases on balls — two to Dixon Houston — during the outburst.

Neville tacked on single markers in the fourth, fifth and sixth.

Houston, who finished the day 0-for-0 with three walks, two RBI and two runs, added a sacrifice fly in the fourth as Neville upped its margin to 8-0.

Spencer Brooks doubled and scored on Brian Barefoot's RBI groundout in the fifth.

Hardin doubled home Houston, aboard via a leadoff walk, in the sixth.

Bastrop placed runners at second and third with two outs in the first and sixth, but was unable to convert.

Patrick struck out three, walked two and allowed two hits through four innings en route to the win. Campbell took care of the final two innings.

Hardin banged two doubles and a single to pace the Tigers' seven-hit output. Whitaker went 2-for-2 with a walk, Green tripled and Brooks doubled.

Ridgell doubled and singled for the Rams (7-14, 3-3), with Maclendon Sharp and Tristen Shanks adding base hits.

Ridgell, Kinnarid, Cameron Freeze and Jerry Powell all took turns on the mound for the Rams.

Continuing a seven-game homestand, the Rams play Claiborne Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
