  • The Morehouse Parish Library has several activities planned for National Library Week April 13 through 19.
Monday through Thursday will be fine free week during which overdue materials may be returned to the library to have fines forgiven. Cost for lost or damaged as well as fines on overdue laptops cannot be eliminated. Patrons can have fines removed on previously returned materials by calling the library.
The library will have an Open House from 1 to 5 p.m. April 15. Cookies and punch will be served. Juice boxes will be available for the kids. The caricature artist Jim Tindall will be there to do free caricatures.
“Jim will be traveling throughout some of the parishes in the Trailblazer system during National Library Week,” library director Ellen Highsmith said. “We are lucky to have his talents here with us on Tuesday. How often do we have the opportunity to get a free caricature done. You pay dearly for one in Jackson Square in New Orleans. So, we hope everyone will take advantage of Mr. Tindall's artistry on Tuesday, April 15.”
The Easter bunny will be at the library from 2 to 5 p.m. April 16. He will be available to take pictures with the kids, but everyone who wants a picture will have to bring their own cameras.
On April 17, the second installment of the spaghetti western series will be showing at 6 p.m. at the Visitor Center. The movie will be “Once Upon a Time in the West.”
The library will be closed Friday, April 19 in honor of Good Friday.
