A free training workshop will be held for business owners wanting to improve their Facebook business pages.
The Bastrop/Morehouse Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the North Delta Regional Planning and Development District, will host the hour-long workshop at 11:30 a.m. April 14 at the Visitor Center.
According to newsroom.fb.com (Facebook companies webpage), there were over 1 billion mobile monthly active users as of March 2014 and 757 million daily active users on average in December 2013. The average person spends 18 minutes on Facebook each day, has 130 friends and is connected to 80 groups, events and business pages.
This workshop will give business owners tips to learn how to reach more people and potential customers. It is part of North Delta’s business training project called Connect Morehouse. Several local businesses have participated already.
"The classes were invaluable. For a beginner like me, they allowed me to understand Facebook and reaching people," Shirley Stewart, City of Bastrop employee, said. "We are now reaching people all over the U.S. who are originally from Bastrop. The instructors were knowledgeable and very good at explaining things in a simple way."
The free training is limited to the first 20 registrants. Lunch will be provided, but pre-registration is required. To reserve a seat, call Dorothy Ford at the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce at 281.3794.
