Ouachita Relays (Girls)
Making a strong showing in the Ouachita Relays, the Bastrop Lady Rams won two relay races and two individual events Thursday afternoon.
Desire McHenry, who signed with Northwestern State University last week, had a hand in all three of the Lady Rams' first-place finishes in the running events.
McHenry posted a time of 25.25 in winning the 200m.
Destini Davis, McHenry, Jessica Gray and Rosalyn Carson produced a winning time of 50.47 in the 4 x 100, followed by Richwood in second place at 51.69.
Jala Tappin, McHenry, Gray and Carson moved the baton for a time of 1:48 in the 4 x 200m. Madison Parish was a distant second at 1:52.40.
Bastrop was runner-up in both distance relays.
Tappin, Devondria Jones, Gray and Sharay Hyde were clocked at 4:29.09 in the 4 x 400m. Richwood won the event with a readout of 4:23.
Dinesha Chatman, Miranda Waters, Alyssia Davis and Hannah Cherry were second to Ouachita in the 4 x 800.
Chatman added a second place finish in the 1600m (6:58.25).
Caitlyn Robinson won the discus (84-5.5) to lead the Lady Rams in the field.
Jalijah Wheeler and Tappin placed 3-4, respectively, in the long jump with leaps of 13-10 and 13-9.25.
Rounding out the Lady Rams' scoring in the field were Makayla Harden, third in the shot put (29-7); and Wheeler in the triple jump (29-10.25).
Returning to action Friday, the Lady Rams travel to West Ouachita.
