Ouachita Relays (Boys)

Johnnie Marsaw was a double winner in the throwing events and the 4 x 100-meter relay team added a first-place finish to highlight the Bastrop Rams' showing at the Ouachita Relays on Thursday afternoon.

Joining Bastrop and Ouachita in the seven-team meet were Carroll, Madison Parish, Richwood, West Ouachita and Wossman.

Marsaw won the shot put with a throw of 46-10 and captured the discus with a toss of 140-3.

Christian Doaty picked up third-place points in the javelin with an effort of 140-3 to round out Bastrop's highlights in the field events.

Isaiah Graham Trevious Crossley, Jamari Payne and Ch'Kilas Calhoun put together a winning time of 50.47 in the 4 x 100m relay. The same foursome was second to West Ouachita in the 4 x 200m with a 1:28.57 readout.

In other relay action, the Rams were runner-up to Richwood in the 4 x 800m and third behind Ouachita and West Ouachita in the 4 x 400m. Quan Hutchinson, Malcolm Melton, Milton Jackson and Jovaris Davis produced a time of 9:21 in the 4 x 800m, while Antwone Green, Crossley, Xavier Latting and Calhoun were clocked at 3:35.77 in the 4 x 400m.

Latting had a solid day in the hurdles with runner-up finishes in the 100m (16.03) and the 300m (42.65).

Payne was second in the 200m dash at 22.72.

Devin Brown turned in a fourth-place finish in the 400m.

Bastrop will compete in the West Ouachita Relays on Friday.
