Boeuf River Country Club High School Tournament

Lauren Turner fired a 41 as the Sterlington Lady Panthers captured the team trophy in a nine-hole tournament at the Boeuf River Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Neville's Aoife O'Donovan shot 39 to win medalist honors.

Turner finished second in the medalist standings, while sisters Keilah and Becca Williams shot 44 and 48, respectively, for the Lady Panthers.

Keilah Williams has proven to be an asset since joining the golf team after basketball season.

“Keilah is really coming along,” coach Willie Ragan said.

Among the other schools competing in the tournament were West Monroe, Neville, Ouachita, Ruston and Cedar Creek.

“Some of the larger schools were there,” Ragan said.

Without a senior on the roster, the future looks bright for the Lady Panthers.

“We should be in pretty good shape for the next couple of years,” Ragan said.

In its final tournament of the regular season, the Lady Panthers play at MUNY on Monday. Then, it's on to the Division II, Region I Tournament at the Alexandria Golf & Country Club, April 28-May 1.

The State Tournament will be played May 5-6 in Shreveport.
