  • Tia Coleman and Deja Robinson teamed up for 38 points and the Bastrop Lady Rams' full court press held Carroll's offense in check en route to a 54-19 victory at Sam's Place on Monday evening.
Carroll went up 2-0 on Jakyranne Phillips' bucket from down low and 4-2 on Stevenique Wilson's mid-range jumper, but it was all Bastrop the rest of the way.
Jazpony Harris set up Shiylciea Grisby for an easy layup and Coleman finished a fast break to put the Lady Rams ahead for good, 6-4.
After a Deja Palmer free throw, Bastrop closed out the first quarter on an 8-0 tear.
Coleman made the second end of a two-shot foul, Robinson intercepted the inbounds pass for a layup, Grisby went coast-to-coast and Coleman buried a long 2 from the top of the circle to put Bastrop up 17-5.
Carroll responded with a 5-0 spurt to start the second quarter.
Wilson's breakaway deuce off of a Shaquioa Jackson steal, followed by Jackson's 3-pointer closed the gap to 17-10.
Bastrop (12-4) then rattled off 11 unanswered points behind eight points from Robinson and an NBA-range 3-pointer from Harris. Robinson closed out the run with a 12-footer from the right baseline, extending the spread to 28-10 with 2:33 to play in the first half.
Carroll was never again within single digits.
Bastrop carried a 30-12 bulge into halftime.
Coleman scored half of her game-high 20 points in the third quarter as Bastrop opened up an insurmountable 48-14 advantage.
Robinson complemented Coleman with 18 points.
Wilson was high scorer for the Lady Bulldogs (2-10) with 10 points.
