The Rose Theatre is giving junior high and high school students a chance to perform with it's Youtheatre's production of "Switching Principals."
"The great thing about this is that the kids get to interact with other kids they don't normally get a chance to interact with," Artistic Director Hal Robinson said. "It also helps with their speaking skills and confidence."
"Switching Principals" is a comedy production with 21 character roles for students to fill. Students from any school grades 7th through 12th may participate. There will be a six week workshop to prepare for the production with rehearsals tentatively set for 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week.
"It's a lot of work for six weeks, but it's worth it on opening night when they get to shine," Robinson said.
Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6 at the Rose Theatre. There is a registration fee of $75 for the workshop. Performance dates will be Feb. 14, 15 and 16.
