  • Former Anacoco High School boys' basketball coach Kevin Jeane has been arrested on one count of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student, according to officials.
The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed the charges Tuesday morning. Anacoco High School principal Lisa Lohman confirmed that Jeane had "resigned," and that Tracy Reese was assuming coaching duties.
"Effective Dec. 16, 2013, the head boy's basketball at Anacoco High School resigned from his employment from the Vernon Parish School Board," Vernon Parish School District Superintendent Jackie Self said. "We have an interim coach in place to continue the successes of the boy's basketball program at Anacoco High School." The charges are outlined in Louisiana RS 14:81.4, and apply when an educator has sexual conduct with a person who is 17 years old, but less than 21 years old, and is a student at the school in which the educator is assigned, employed or working at the time of the offense.
Jeane has been released on $1,000 bond.
