Today, as we prepare for one of the busiest weekends of the season, may we pray for all of those who who aren’t quite comfortable where they are and aren’t sure when things will change — the ones living in the meantime.

I enjoyed being single but there were times, particularly around the holidays, where I lived in the meantime. I’ve lived in the meantime at  jobs, in friendships, in family health situations.

Sure, in the meantime is a place of great growth, but let’s not forget that it is a tough place to be — a place where you trust you’ll get through this but haven’t yet seen the way.

Let us pray…

Dear Lord,

Please wrap your loving arms around those who are waiting for things to change. Draw them close to your heart. Fill them with peace so that they know you are not just with them when everything is settled and worked out — but that you are with them in the meantime.

Amen.
