A Bastrop woman was jailed following a confrontation which led to the victim being stabbed.

Bastrop Police Chief Downey Black said the police department received a call from Morehouse General Hospital around 4 a.m. Sunday morning regarding a victim who had been stabbed and who had driven himself to the hospital.

The initial investigation revealed the victim had been stabbed in the upper left side of his chest. Investigators made contact with Demetrius Cogile, 33, 109 Julia, whom had been involved in an altercation earlier that night with the victim. She was arrested on charges of attempted second degree murder and placed in the Morehouse Parish Jail.
