Sulphur reached the semifinals last season for the first time since 1998.
The Lady Tors' came out firing on all cylinders scoring 26 points in the first quarter while on defense they held the Lady Crusaders to just two points.
The Lady Tors led 49-7 at halftime led by senior guard Ally Cupit who scored all 13 of her points in the first half.
Junior Cierra Wilson nearly had a double-double Tuesday with a game-high 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Fellow forward Lauren Pace had nine points and seven rebounds.
Kourtney Brooks chipped in six points and five rebounds while Taylee Kuykendall finished with four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Georgia Hansen scored five points in her first varsity start while Becca Brooks had five points, four steals and two assists.
The Lady Crusaders best quarter was the third when they out scored Sulphur 12-9.
The Lady Tors will be on the road again today when they travel to Lake Charles to take on Washington-Marion at 5 p.m. Sulphur will begin play in the Westlake/Iberia Bank Holiday Classic with a 3:30 p.m. game against Welsh. They will not play their first home game until December 10th when they host Barbe in their District 3-5A opener.
