A Bastrop woman is behind bars following the investigation of a local bank robbery Wednesday.

Bastrop Police Department Assistant Chief Bubba McDuffie confirmed the arrest of Katrina M. Grimble, 45, 803 N. Odom on a charge of first degree robbery.

The Richland State Bank located in the Magnolia Shopping Center was robbed Wednesday morning and officers as well as detectives immediately began canvassing the area for information regarding a suspect, who was caught on video survelance. Information gathered from the video led officers to the N. Odom residence where Grimble was located.

Grimble was taken into custody but over $3,000 is still unrecovered. She was transported to the Morehouse Parish Jail and remains there with a bond set at $75,000.

"This investigation and arrest is the result of a good team effort of both retired and active BPD officers," McDuffie said.

The investigation into the missing money is ongoing.

Another Bastrop woman finds herself behind bars due to a domestic dispute with her boyfriend.

Claudia Evans, 38, 1515 Henry, Monroe, was arrested Wednesday after a dispute with her boyfriend left him with a stab wound.

The Police Department responded to a call Tuesday night from neighbors stating the victim was at their home bleeding profusely. When officers arrived, they learned about the stabbing and the victim was transported to Morehouse General Hospital, stabilized and transferred to a Monroe hospital.

On Wednesday, Evans was arrested for attempted second degree murder as well as a warrant for aggravated second degree battery. The warrant stemmed back to a domestic dispute in February, 2013 with the same victim.

Evans remains in the Morehouse Parish Jail.
