The Bastrop High Rams' win Friday night is allowing students to get a long weekend this week.

Because the Rams will play in the first round of the playoffs Friday night in New Orleans, Morehouse Parish School Superintendent Dr. George Noflin Jr. issued a statement stating schools will be closed to allow fans the opportunity to travel to Warren Easton High School in New Orleans.

"In order to show our support for our Rams, there will be no school on Friday so that our students, faculty, staff and community may have an opportunity to travel to New Orleans for this game," Noflin said. "We have built into our school calendar, inclement weather days and fortunately, we have not had any inclement weather. Therefore, we will be using one of these days. Go Rams!"

Tickets for the game are $10 and are available in the office of Bastrop High. Beekman Charter School will also be closed Friday so those students may attend the game.

The Rams will play at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Pan Am Stadium located on Zachary Taylor Drive.
