Parents of high school seniors have an opportunity to visit local college campuses through "Louisiana College Application Week," sponsored by the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance and LA GEAR UP.

The week of Nov. 11 through Nov. 15 has been designated to encourage seniors to apply to Louisiana colleges and, through the collaborative efforts of the administration, faculty and staff of Bastrop High School and local colleges, an opportunity for parents to visit the campuses of both University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) and Delta Community College in Bastrop has been made available.

On Nov. 13, The first 100 parents of seniors who are expected to graduate in 2014 can attend the Parent College Trip and visit both campuses.

The purpose of this trip is to provide parents with information about financial aid available at the college, entrance requirements, courses of study and campus life. Transportation will be provided for parents, with Delta Community College in Bastrop slated for 9 a.m. and ULM for 11 a.m.
