Michael Head was located at his residence and during questioning, it was learned that a second local man, identified as Joshua Sanders, had been a part of the theft. When the investigators went to Sanders' home, they noticed what appeared to be a marijuana plant growing in the back yard. Sanders was taken into custody and both men were placed in the Morehouse Parish jail.
The duo were charged with misdemeanor theft, two counts of conspiracy and felony theft. Sanders was additionally charged with possession of marijuana and cultivation of marijuana.
Investigators with the MPSO are also investigating a theft which occurred between 10 p.m. Oct. 16 and 8 a.m. Oct. 17. The complainant stated that a vehicle, located at a residence on the Cooper Lake Rd., had been broken into and the following items were missing
• White Cabalito Costas sunglasses valued at $300;
• An UK flashlight valued at $50;
• A camouflaged Matthews Rezzens 7.0 compound bow with an Apache rest stabilizer and Camo Extreme light sights valued at $1,300;
• A Matthews soft case with camouflage on each end;
• A silver Seiko dive watch valued at $200;
• A Rossi .22 cal. pistol valued at $300;
Investigators are also investigating the theft of cooper from a 10 ton Carrier air conditioning unit located at the old Chevrolet building on US 165.
