The FYI: Find Your Idea workshop, to be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in the Bastrop City Hall Courtroom, is geared to help those wanting to explore ideas for new businesses that have a high potential for success and growth. Attendees will also be given additional skills to support the development and growth of a new venture as well supply resources needed to establish a new business.
By attending the workshop, participants will be allowed to apply for a space in a business acceleration program, which will provide intensive training, business coaching and professional consulting services. Participants will also qualify for meetings with business counselors. Those in attendance will also learn about the "Won in One" Regional Business Pitch competition, which will be held Oct. 29 at Tech.

The TBDC supports and facilitates the establishment, growth and success of technology-based businesses in northern Louisiana. The Center supports these businesses by providing information, counseling services, and educational opportunities for nascent entrepreneurs, emerging business ventures, and existing technology-oriented businesses. Assistance and support available through the TBDC is specifically tailored to meet the needs of entrepreneurs who are investigating and pursuing business enterprises, based on useful new technologies or unique applications of technology with the potential to create high quality employment opportunities in Louisiana.
The primary service area for the TBDC is along the I-20 corridor in north Louisiana, which includes 20 parishes: Caddo, Bossier, De Soto, Red River, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, Winn, Jackson, Lincoln, Union, Ouachita, Caldwell, Franklin, Richland, Morehouse, West Carroll, East Carroll, Madison and Tensas.
