A Longville man has been processed into the Beauregard Parish Jail and is charged with second degree murder following the shooting of a Longville woman Sunday afternoon.

A Longville man has been processed into the Beauregard Parish Jail and is charged with second degree murder following the shooting of a Longville woman Sunday afternoon.
Randal Langley, 51, was transported by Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office officials from a hospital in Lake Charles to the Beauregard Parish's Sheriff's Office after being treated for injuries after a car accident, BPSO officials report.
Deputies with the BPSO responded to the report of a shooting shortly before 1:30 p.m. Sunday, after a caller, who was identified as the daughter of the victim, stated a woman had been shot.
Deputies found Sherry Lynn Langley, 44, dead at the scene, as a result of gunshot wounds to the upper torso and head. Information gathered at the scene indicated that Randall Langley, the victim's husband, had fled in a late-model Chevy pickup truck following the shooting.
Police began searching for the area for Randal Langley, and around 7:15 p.m., Merryville Police Department officers responded to a vehicle accident in the Neale Oilfield Road area. Deputies found a pickup truck fully engulfed in flames and advised BPSO officials that a man found at the scene could be the suspect.
The suspect was transported to St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles, a Lake Charles Police officer confirmed that it was, in fact, Randal Langley.
Langley's bond has been set at $1.75 million.
