  • Police seek leads in thefts

  • Investigators with the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Department are working several thefts and are looking for information regarding merchandise taken and those responsible.
    On Oct. 8, a report was received regarding a burglary on Sonny Boy Yeldell Road. Items reported missing were: a white and gray K2 cooler, a white Yeti cooler, a Husqvarna chainsaw, $500 worth of fishing equipment, a Blackout game camera, three Ketti Back cameras, and a Mossberg tactical .22 rifle. The total value is $3300.
    On Oct. 7, a complaint was received regarding a Stihl chainsaw missing from a residence on the Perryville Road.
    Detectives are also still looking the following items:
    On Sept. 18, a complaint was received regarding the theft of a white refrigerator valued at $300 from a carport of a residence on Augusta St..
    A 2012 John Deere 54 inch zero turn riding mower valued at $5,300 stolen between the hours of 7 p.m. Sept. 21 and 6 a.m. Sept. 22 from a residence on Whitestar.
    A House brand tiller, red in color with "House" written in yellow on the side and valued at $2,500 reported missing from the Bonita area. The tiller is used behind a tractor.
    A 1998 Croswell 14 x 6 black utility trailer from a business on Hwy. 139.
    A Stihl chainsaw valued at $170 was reported stolen from a shed at a residence on the Norman Harper Road
    Anyone with any information regarding these thefts or any felony may contact Crimestoppers at 281.0050; the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office at 281.4141 or the Bastrop Police Department at 281.1322. Also, anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects shown on page 2, may call Crimestoppers with that information. Crimestoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in felony cases.
