For the first time in over 30 years, Morehouse Junior High School will have a homecoming. The football team will play the Delta Mustangs at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 in the junior high stadium.
The student body chose eight girls to represent the sixth, seventh and eighth grades on a Homecoming Court, which will be presented at 9 a.m. Oct. 1.
Chosen as Queen was Ken'Shevia McClendon, the eighth grade student and daughter of Kenneth and Jacquelyn McClendon. She is active at MJH as a member of the dance line and is also a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Gabrielle Myers was chosen as the 2013 Maid of Honor. She is the daughter of Gladys Brown and is a member of the Road Home Fellowship Church.
Chosen as Eighth Grade Maids were Asiana Atkins and Mikayla Abrie Perry.
Asiana is the daughter of Jacqueline Bridges and Henry Atkins. She is a cheerleader and member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Mikayla is the daughter of Michael and Stacy Perry. She is a Peer Leader and member of Mount Zion #5 Church.
Chosen as Seventh Grade Maids were Kaitlyn Jones and Shamarquissia Brandley.
Kaitlyn is the daughter of Gabriel Jones and Toni Jones. She is a member of Believer's Worship Center.
Shamarquissia is the daughter of Rickey Bonnett and Shemical Brandley. She is a member of Salem #1 Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
Chosen as Sixth Grade Maids were Jasmine Felts and Destiny Neblett.
Jasmine is the daughter of Lisa Hughes and a member of the Life House Church and the band.
Destiny is the daughter of Robert Payton and Cara Neblett. She is a member of 4-H.
