CANEY LAKE — Bass fishing has been rather slow during the days with a few fish picked up around deep points on plastic worms. Some are being caught at night fishing slow-rolled dark spinners or big plastic worms in the coves and on the underwater humps. Crappie fishing is slow to fair with a few fish caught around deep structure on shiners or jigs. Chinquapins are fair on the flats using cold worms. LAKE CLAIBORNE — Bream fishing continues to be fairly good around the beds using worms and crickets. Stripers are beginning to school a bit early mornings and should hit bucktails or shad imitation lures. A few crappie have been caught around deep brush in 20 foot water on shiners or jigs. Bass fishing is generally slow with some smaller fish caught at night on spinners or soft plastics. Catfishing is fair to good fishing off the banks with chicken livers or cold worms. LAKE D’ARBONNE — Bream fishing has been quite good fishing crickets or worms off the banks. Lots of catfish are being caught on cold worms around the lake. Bass fishing is slow during the days and fair at night on spinners and dark plastic worms.
