Funeral services for Carl Earl Lindeman, 89, of Bastrop will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at Cox Funeral Home in Bastrop with the Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.Visitation will be held from noon until time of the service Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home.
Mr. Lindeman was born to the late John Will and Maudie Little Lindeman near Alto on December 10, 1923. He passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care Center in Bastrop.
Mr. Lindeman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rena Loraine Odom Lindeman; his daughter, Karlynn Lindeman Sanders; and his brother, Avole Lindeman.
He is survived by his son in law, Paul Sanders; grandsons Jason Paul Sanders and Justin Carl Sanders; his great-granddaughter, Jacelyn Sanders; nieces Pam Jones Lee and husband Van, Kay Carter Hopkins, Sue DeLaune and husband Jay and Donna Motoshi and husband Glynn; nephews Jerry Jones and wife Shelley, Bobby Jones and wife Carol and Kenneth Earl Lindeman and wife Sue; and special friend L.M. McIntyre.
Mr. Lindeman retired after 43 years with International Paper in Bastrop. He was a veteran of World War II, the recipient of three Bronze Stars during service with the 91st Division 316th Combat Engineers in both the African and European theaters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Duncan M. Jones, Shawn Ouellette, Derek Ouellette, Jerry Rhodes, Neal Johnson and Mike Ruddick.
