  • Investigators with the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Department are working several thefts and are looking for information regarding merchandise taken and those responsible.
    On Aug. 27, a complaint was received regarding the theft of a John Deere model LX288 yellow and green riding lawnmower taken from a residence in the Greenwood/Shelton Road area. The mower has a crack on the hood and is valued at $3,900.
    On Sept. 5, a complaint was received regarding the theft of a homemade bar-b-que grill from a residence on Maplewood. The grill was made out of 2 foot 20 inch pipe and was mounted on 2.5 inch flat bar. It is valued at over $500.
    On Sept. 7, a complaint was received regarding the theft of three Husqvarna chainsaws from a work truck on US Hwy. 165. The chainsaws are all orange in color and are a model 395, valued at $1,500; a model 372, valued at $1,000 and a model 338, valued at $300. Also taken were three white ropes worth a total value of $400.
    On Sept. 8, a report was received regarding the theft of two laptop computers valued at $100 a piece, a Michael Kors watch valued at $300 and a new wii console and game still in the box valued at $100. These items were reported missing from a residence on the Carbon Plant Road.
    Also on Sept. 8, three refrigerators (one working and two nonworking) along with a tool box and various tools valued at $280 and a Hobart meat grinder valued at $800 was reported stolen from a residence on the Spyker Road.
    Anyone with any information regarding these thefts or any felony may contact Crimestoppers at 281.0050; the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office at 281.4141 or the Bastrop Police Department at 281.1322. Also, anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects shown on page 2, may call Crimestoppers with that information. Crimestoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in felony cases.
