  • Bastrop High and Prairie View both play at home tonight.
A brief glance at the two games:

Huntington at Bastrop, Friday, 7 p.m. — Coming off of a strong second half in last week's 25-12 jamboree victory, the Rams are seeking to put four solid quarters together against the Raiders from Shreveport.
“I want us to start fast and be aggressive on both sides of the ball,” said Bastrop coach Thomas Bachman, whose team trailed 6-0 before reeling off 25 unanswered points early in the second half last week.
Bastrop produced 287 yards of total offensive, including 227 through the air in the 30-minute jamboree.
Huntington, on the other hand, is trying to get untracked after managing only 80 yards in a 35-0 jamboree loss to Byrd.
Key players for the Rams include center Rodney Jackson, quarterback Christian Doaty and wide receiver Isaiah Graham on offense and tackle Johnnie Marsaw and linebacker Kentreylus Hill-Pates on defense.
Bastrop plays in the Battle of the Border next week at Independence Stadium in Shreveport. Friday's pairings include St. Thomas More vs. Calvary Baptist at 6 p.m. and Bastrop vs. Byrd at 8:30. Saturday's schedule has Acadiana matched against Neville at 2 p.m., followed by Marshall (Texas) vs. Parkway at 5 and Olive Branch (Miss.) vs. Longview (Texas) at 7:30.

Claiborne (1-1) at Prairie View (0-2) — Regardless of the outcome, it will be hard for the two teams to top last year's game. Dylan Carroll delivered a 50-yard touchdown pass to Maclendon Sharp on the final play of the game, lifting the Spartans to a 20-19 victory in Haynesville.
This year, it's the Rebels' turn to come to Bastrop.
For Prairie View, the key is keeping the Rebels out of short-yardage situations.
“Defensively, we have to stop the run, put them in passing situations and see where the chips fall,” Prairie View coach Reagan Morrison said.
Players to watch for the Spartans include two-way tackle Ross Blackard, wide receiver/defensive back Cole Bryan and running back/linebacker Nolan Whorton.
Prairie View ventures to Raymond, Miss. next week to take on Central Hinds.
