A Bastrop man faces life in prison following an investigation into allegations of sexual relationships with two juveniles.
Bastrop Police Chief Downey Black confirmed the arrest of Ronterrious Moore, 18, 612 Forrest Ave. on the charges of forcible rape and aggravated rape after complaints were received alleging Moore had had relations with a 13-year-old female and an 11-year-old female. Investigators were able to get warrants for the acts, which are defined by Louisiana law as:
Aggravated rape is a rape committed upon a person...when the victim is under the age of 13. Lack of knowledge of the victim's age shall not be a defense. Anyone convicted of the act of aggravated rape shall be imprisoned for life at hard labor without the benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence;
Forcible rape is a rape committed ...without the lawful consent of the victim ... Anyone convicted of the act of forcible rape shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than five years and not more than 40 years and at least two years of the sentence shall be without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
On Aug. 30, officers spotted Moore walking down Washington Street with another male. They were able to take Moore into custody without incident and learned that the second male was a juvenile truant from school.
The juvenile was transported to the Police Department and released to his parents and Moore was taken to the Morehouse Parish jail and booked for the rape offenses and for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Bond was set at $750,000 for all three charges.
