  • The Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary of a residence on Basham Road were several items of jewelry were taken. They are looking for information regarding this envasion and the theft of: a gold tennis bracelet valued at $105 a silver heart-shaped pendant on a silver chain, value unknown a silver engagement ring with six small diamonds in the shape of a square, valued at $208 a Fossil watch with a pink face, valued at $60 a Fossil watch with a blue face, valued at $60 a Fossil watch with a white face, valued at $60 a Rolex watch with a blue face, value unknown a gold colored diamond ring, value unknown. The band of this ring is bent. a white gold ring with a small diamond, value unknown All of the items were stolen from a safe inside the residence. They are also investigating the theft of power tools from the Morehouse Parish Highway barn. On July 24, 2013 workers reported the theft of two orange and white Stihl weed eaters from the barn. After the theft, two new Stihl weed eaters were purchased and on Aug. 16, these were reported stolen from the barn. Anyone with any information regarding these thefts or any felony may contact Crimestoppers at 281.0050; the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office at 281.4141 or the Bastrop Police Department at 281.1322. Also, anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects shown on page 2, may call Crimestoppers with that information. Crimestoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in felony cases.
