A Bastrop man is jailed Friday night following a suspected drug exchange. Morehouse Parish Sheriff Mike Tubbs said around 10:30 Friday night, deputies observed what appeared to be a narcotics transaction while in the Cypress-Dalton Street area. As the deputies initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed. Later that night, the vehicle and it's driver, identified as Jarodney Washington, 5728 Turpin St., was located off of Cherry Ridge Road. Washington gave the deputies consent to search the vehicle as well as his residence and suspected crack cocaine was located. Also located was an iPad which had been reported stolen several weeks ago. Washington was taken into custody and transported to the Morehouse Parish jail where he was booked on charges of possession of stolen goods, possession of schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to distribute schedule II narcotics. Washington will go before a judge this morning to have his bail set.
