  • Chief Downey Black said Officer Danny Coronado responded to a call from a local restaurant where an unresponsive driver was sitting in the drive-through. The driver, identified as Eric W. Trichel, 33, 125 Eastwood, appeared to be extremely impaired and was found to be in possession of numerous suspected Xanax bars. Trichel was placed under arrest for possession of schedule IV drugs with intent to distribute, careless operation and driving while intoxicated, second offense. Later in the morning, the owner of a local wrecker service contacted the police department regarding two subjects having broken into the yard and attempting to retrieve something from Trichel's vehicle, which had been placed in the yard following his arrest. The suspects were identified as John Lucero, 51, 220 W. Carter Apt. L, and Alicia Trichel. Lucero was located and placed under arrest for simple burglary and conspiracy. A warrant for Alicia Trichel was obtained on the same charges. Further investigation led officers to Lucero's residence, where a search revealed suspected crystal meth, multiple used syringes and suspected marijuana. A suspected meth lab was also found inside a wall of the home. Melissa Leihr, 35, 220 W. Carter Apt. L, was present during the search and she was taken into custody on charges of creation or operation of a clandestine lab, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule II with intent and possession of marijuana. Lucero was also arrested on those additional charges. The case is still under investigation by Detective Eric Newnum, and information regarding the whereabouts of Alicia Trichel is being sought.
