CANEY LAKE — Some bass are schooling and hitting topwater lures when they're up top. Bigger bass to 9 pounds are being caught at night on 11 inch dark plastic worms and the Biffle Bug. Chinquapins are still biting cold worms on the bottom on the 8 foot flats. Crappie fishing has slowed with a few caught around deep tops on shiners or jigs. LAKE CLAIBORNE — Bream and crappie fishing has both slowed down this week. Quite a few catfish are being caught on trotlines, drifting baits under jugs or noodles and also tight lining night crawlers. Bass are fair with a few nice ones to 7 pounds caught on spinner baits. Bass are also hitting dark soft plastics around the lights at night. The stripers have been schooling but action slowed due to heavy boat traffic over the weekend. LAKE D'ARBONNE — The bream and catfish continue to be the hottest tickets fishing off the banks using cold worms and crickets. Crappie have moved to the deep sloughs and have been rather hard to locate. Some bass are being caught at night on dark spinners and worms while schooling fish are fair on topwater shad imitations. OUACHITA RIVER — The river is in a yo-yo pattern with a slight rise followed by a slight fall and then another rise. Best crappie fishing is in the bayou and river lakes on shiners or jigs.
